Mask-less mom tasered, handcuffed: Alecia Kitts Wikipedia, Biography
An Ohio police officer reportedly tased and arrested Alecia Kitts at a middle school football game Wednesday for refusing to wear a mask.
A video posted to YouTube apparently shows a Logan police officer arrest Alecia Kitts after some unintelligible words are exchanged. A school official told The Marietta Times that before police got involved, a junior high school assistant principal asked Kitts to wear her mask, which is seen in her back pocket during the incident.
The video shows three children and a Kitts without a mask next to his mother in the stands. “Don’t touch me,” she said to the police, trying to get her hands off. Three kids run away from the area as the conflict becomes more aggressive.
One of the boys can be heard crying as Kitts continues to fight with the officer and demand that he release him. At one point, a man who appears to be a schoolboy approaches Kitts and the officer to see what is happening.
A few minutes later, the officer taps, causing Kitts to fall into the lower row of stands. The officer then handcuffed Kitts and detained him.
Kitts’ mother shouted, Come on, it’s just a mask.
Theresa Schultheiss, Logan Athletics Director, told the Marietta Times that 300 people attended Wednesday’s middle school football match and that only Kitts and her grandmother had problems with mask authority.
It is unclear what charges Kitts faces, but Logan police said the incident is under investigation.
