Hundreds of cars are in the San Luis area to fulfill the last wish of a child who died after a long battle with cancer.
Alec Ingram of Washington, Missouri, osteosarcoma bone cancer was diagnosed in May 2015. He died on November 7 at the age of 14.
Alec’s inspiring fight against cancer in children touched the hearts of everyone. His story and his love for sports cars were viral. Alec said his family was his last wish was to fill his funeral with them.
On Sunday he must fulfill his last wish 4500 cars from all over the country.
On the Eureka, Missouri community Facebook page on Sunday mornings photos were shared by a rainbow of sports cars, which line the parking lot of Six Flags St. Louis. They are on their way to Washington, Missouri, to bury Alec Sunday afternoon.
The service starts at 1:00 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church. The procession begins after the funeral, starting with the church and the cemetery on Highway A. Sports cars will participate in the procession and hundreds more are parked along the route.
Dozens of companies in downtown Washington raise money for Ingram’s family Sunday. An important fundraiser was organized with several small businesses, restaurants and shops in the area.
These businesses will donate a percentage of their sales on Sunday, Nov. 17 to the family:
