Adam Roth Biography – Adam Roth Wiki
Adam Roth is a Wisconsin man who was sentenced Monday to life in a psychiatric hospital for fatally stabbing his wife and sister-in-law in March in an attack that also left two other family members injured.
36-year-old Adam Roth was sentenced to life in prison weeks after he pleaded guilty but admitted that he was not guilty of mental illness or deliberate manslaughter and attempted willful murder. On March 10, Roth fatally stabbed his wife and his 34-year-old sister Dominique Roth and 26-year-old Deidre Popanda and stabbed her mother-in-law and sister-in-law.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Adam Roth stabbed his wife while she was eating in the kitchen. When they ordered him to stop, he turned his eyes to his mother-in-law and brother-in-law.
The mother-in-law and the surviving sister-in-law were seriously injured. The family’s dog was also killed in the March 10 attack.
According to Journal Sentinel, Dominique Roth told officers who responded, “Why did he do this?” Asked. He also begged for help before he died from 19 stab wounds.
The officers who found Adam Roth ordered him to lay down the murder weapon. He was forced to do so and replied, “Well, I’m done.”
Adam Roth’s mother-in-law said he was “obsessed” with the coronavirus in the weeks before the stabbings. “The coronavirus was coming and I had to rescue them,” Adam Roth told a detective the day after the attack, while he was in the hospital, according to Journal Sentinel.
The news source also received reports from two doctors who stated that Adam Roth’s mental health was rapidly declining in the months leading up to the March 10 event.
The mother-in-law claimed that on the morning of the stabbing, Adam Roth woke everyone at 5am to tell them that he loved them and felt sorry for everything he did.
Adam Roth’s lawyer claimed that his client was seeking help in the morning when he stabbed four family members, but he did not receive the necessary treatment.
“This case is about a person with mental illness who suffers in a way that I think none of us can understand,” said the lawyer.
